Answers to common questions about app data, permissions, and the current release.
No. Transit Scanner is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Metrolinx or GO Transit.
Location permission is used to show your position on the map and to support optional active-ride get-off reminders when you choose to start a ride.
In version 1.0, saved routes, search history, preferences, and active ride state are stored locally on your device. They are not sent to Transit Scanner servers.
Yes. The app can still show routes, stops, schedules, and available real-time information. Features based on your current position may be limited.
The app uses public GO Transit and Metrolinx data services for schedules, vehicle positions, and service updates where available.
